The legacy AWS CodeStar API ('codestar'), CLI ('aws codestar'), and IAM namespace ('codestar:*') were retired on July 31, 2024 in favor of Amazon CodeCatalyst ('codecatalyst') and standalone AWS Developer Tools.

  • Underlying resources provisioned by AWS CodeStar templates (such as AWS CodePipeline pipelines, AWS CodeBuild projects, and CloudFormation stacks) continued running unaffected after July 31, 2024, while AWS CodeStar Connections was rebranded to AWS CodeConnections and AWS CodeStar Notifications remained active.
